Statistical Inference of Process Capability Indices With Fuzzy Limits for the Exponential Distributions Family

Abstract

Statistical quality control relies on process capability indices (PCIs) to quantify the ability of a process. When specification limits (SLs) are modeled as fuzzy sets, conventional PCIs must be fuzzified. In this paper, we present confidence intervals for PCIs with fuzzy specification limits, specifically for the family of exponential distributions. This is achieved by presenting theoretical results and a numerical example for illustration. ‎Also‎, ‎we propose a hypothesis testing related to PCIs $C_{\tilde{p}}$ and $C_{\tilde{p}}^{'}$ with a numerical example‎.
